Install ROCwork

Beta: the extension is installed from a zip, not yet from the Chrome Web Store. Takes about two minutes. Windows and Mac.

1. Unzip

  1. Download the zip we sent you (rocwork-0.2.0.zip).
  2. Right-click it, Extract All (Windows) or double-click it (Mac). You get a folder called rocwork. Keep that folder somewhere permanent, for example Documents. Chrome loads the extension from it every time it starts, so do not delete or move it later.

2. Load it in Chrome

  1. In Chrome, open chrome://extensions (type it in the address bar).
  2. Turn on Developer mode, top right.
  3. Click Load unpacked, top left, and pick the rocwork folder.
  4. ROCwork appears in the list. Click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar and pin ROCwork so its button stays visible.

Chrome shows a "Disable developer mode extensions" popup each time it starts. Click Cancel; it goes away when ROCwork is on the Web Store. Chrome 140 or newer is needed.

3. Sign in

  1. Click the ROCwork button. A side panel opens.
  2. Type your email and click Send code. Enter the 6-digit code from the email and click Continue.

4. Pay MCA, then download

  1. In the same Chrome window, go to mca.gov.in, log in, and pay ₹100 for the company under MCA Services, Document Related Services, View Public Documents. The company shows up in the panel on its own once MCA has recorded the payment (usually within minutes, sometimes half an hour).
  2. Click Download next to the company, confirm the credit, and choose a folder the first time. Each company gets its own subfolder with one folder per document category and an Excel index.
  3. Keep the panel and the MCA tab open until it says Complete. You can use other tabs. Do not let the computer sleep. A typical company takes 10 to 40 minutes.

Updating

When we send a new zip: unzip it over the old folder (or to a new one), then on chrome://extensions click the reload arrow on ROCwork, or remove the old one and Load unpacked again. Your sign-in and folder choice are kept.
